Environmental Management
As a responsible player in the community, we have also established and are currently implementing an environmental management system consistent with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14000.
WRAP Certification
The certification of ACE Style to the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) principles demonstrates our commitment to responsible business practices and to ensure that apparel is produced under lawful, humane and ethical conditions.
Education
In support of the upbringing of poor students and educational activities in poverty areas on the mainland China, ACE Style has made substantial financial contribution to the China Candle Light Education Fund, a non-profit making Hong Kong-based organization established in 2000 with the following functions in the HKSAR and the Mainland:
- To sponsor poverty areas in rebuilding schools and improving teaching facilities.
- To offer training to teachers in remote areas such as Guangdong and Kweizhou provinces.
- To offer scholarships to local and mainland students.
- To enhance academic exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland.
We have funded the establishment of ACE Style Institute of Intimate Apparel in the UK and Hong Kong as a gesture of our support to the communities and in recognition of:
- Global shortage of designers and merchandisers in the industry
- Importance of nurturing and upbringing of the forthcoming generations.
- Need for ensuring sustainable development of the intimate apparel industry.
The ACE Style Institute of Intimate Apparel in the UK was established in collaboration with the De Montfort University (DMU) in December 2003 with a mission to support and promote the advancement of education and improvement in the design and manufacture of intimate apparel. The primary objectives of the Institute are:
- To pioneer as a non-profit making and independent institute. ¨ To provide customized professional continuing education for the intimate apparel industry.
- To enrich the academic programmes in universities through strategic partnership with international players in the intimate apparel industry.
- To provide financial support for students’ participation in outreach training activities.
- To prepare undergraduates to meet future career challenges in the real-world business environment.
The Institute in Hong Kong, established in August 2004 in collaboration with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Institute of Textiles and Clothing, is aimed at providing the much needed manpower for the intimate apparel industry and accelerating the development of Hong Kong into an Intimate Apparel Fashion Centre. It is the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region with a four-fold mission:
- To offer BA (Hons) Degree course in intimate apparel design commencing in 2005.
- To promote information and experience exchanges between local and overseas experts.
- To foster advancement in lingerie research and development.
- To provide consultancy services for the intimate apparel industry.
Industry Co-operation
ACE Style has also been instrumental in the establishment of the Hong Kong Intimate Apparel Industries’ Association in December 2003 to provide a platform for closer communication and co-operation among industry players and to promote research, education and training to ensure sustainable development of the intimate apparel and related industries.
As part of our commitment towards minimizing any negative economic, social and environmental impacts on the society, ACE Style has in January 2008 joined hands with 11 other key industry players in the textile and apparel sector in the founding of the Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium aimed at promoting and increasing the use of sustainable practices across the supply chain.
